FOUNDED BY FARMERS FOR FARMERS

Benton Beckwith

Benton Beckwith was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley as a third generation farmer. After a college and a stint at pro rodeo, Benton came home to Progreso to join his father in the family farming business.

In 1997, realizing the ever-increasing risks facing farmers, Benton along with his father approached Chuck Sellman to form Depot Crop insurance. With Chuck’s knowledge of crop insurance and Benton’s farming experience, the company was formed with the desire to do the very best for our local farmers.

When it comes to risk management, Benton knows and understands the needs of area farmers and ranchers. Combining his experience growing cotton, grain, sugarcane, corn, and onions with his 20 years working in the crop insurance business, Benton is happy to give credible advice to our customers. Benton takes to heart Depot Farm and Ranch’s motto: “Farmers putting Farmers First.” Benton's two sons both plan to carry on the tradition of agriculture in the Rio Grande Valley.
